Terms & conditions
1. Introduction
Riven offers art workshops in the Catalan countryside, providing accommodation, meals, and artistic instruction. Airfare and travel expenses are not included.
2. Registration
By booking a Riven event, participants automatically agree to these terms and conditions.
It is the responsibility of the participant to have a valid passport or identification card, along with any required visas, permits, certificates, or other necessary documentation for the trip, including medical certificates if applicable.
By registering for any Riven workshop, the participant accepts and agrees to all rules and regulations set by Riven for the workshop.
3. Booking & Payment
a) When booking a workshop through the Riven website, participants will be placed on a waiting list on a first-come, first-served basis.
b) After signing up, Riven will contact participants to confirm whether they have secured a spot.
c) Riven will provide payment details to confirmed participants. Payment must be completed within 12 days after receiving the payment details in order to secure the spot. Failure to do so will result in the spot being offered to another participant.
d) In the week leading up to June 1, 2025, Riven will contact all participants to confirm the workshop. We strongly advise participants not to book flights or travel arrangements before receiving this confirmation.
4. Participant Cancellations
a) Participants may cancel their registration up to twelve weeks before the workshop start date and receive a 50% refund.
b) If either the participant or Riven finds a replacement, a full refund will be issued.
c) If no replacement is found and the cancellation occurs within twelve weeks of the workshop, no refund will be given.
5. Cancellations by Riven
If a workshop is canceled by Riven, the participant will receive a 100% refund unless the cancellation is due to a force majeure event. However, Riven is not responsible for reimbursing travel expenses or any third-party costs incurred by the participant. Therefore, we strongly advise against purchasing plane tickets until your participation in a Riven workshop is confirmed. Confirmation will be sent via email in the week before June 1, 2025.
6. Force Majeure
Refunds will not be issued if a workshop is canceled due to circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to war, the threat of war, civil unrest, industrial disputes, terrorist activity, natural disasters, fire, pandemics, or adverse weather conditions.
7. Minimum Number of Participants
Riven reserves the right to postpone or cancel a workshop if the minimum required number of participants is not met. In this case, participants will be notified before June 1, 2025, and will receive a full refund.
8. Instructor Changes
If an instructor is unable to attend due to illness, unforeseen incapacity, or other circumstances beyond our control, Riven will make every effort to provide a qualified substitute instructor to ensure the workshop proceeds as planned. In the rare event that no replacement can be arranged and the workshop must be canceled, a full refund will be issued.
9. Travel Insurance & Liability
Participants must arrange comprehensive travel insurance covering trip cancellation, liability, personal belongings, accidents, and medical emergencies. Riven does not provide insurance coverage for participants and will not be held responsible for any losses incurred.
10. Additional Expenses
Any additional costs incurred by the participant during the workshop period must be settled directly with Riven before departure.
11. Property & Damages
Participants are expected to treat all property, furniture, artwork, and equipment with care and leave them in the condition in which they were found. Any damages caused by a participant’s negligence may be charged to them.
12. Removal of Participants
Riven reserves the right to remove any participant from the workshop and/or housing without a refund if their behavior is deemed disruptive, harmful, or in violation of the workshop's rules.
13. Liability
Upon arrival at the venue, participants will be required to sign a waiver acknowledging full responsibility for their actions, safety, and any risks undertaken during the workshop.
Riven shall not be liable for:
