From idea to image
Follow a concept from its earliest sketch into a developed image. Ellen’s workshop brings together painting, photography and visual storytelling.
The process moves through three stages: Sur, for generating and expanding ideas; Reality, for testing and structure; and Virtuality, for execution and final form.
Develop one concept through experiments with composition, scale, colour, light and emotional atmosphere. Leave with a developed work or final study, and a more deliberate way to carry ideas through.
A week with room to grow
Demonstrations, guided practice, discussion and a personal portfolio review. Learn in the studio, then continue the conversation over meals and in the surrounding countryside.
